Taking
this method a step further you can go ahead and
feel out the information needed on the bill slip
that you will send, place a stamp on the envelope
that you will be sending it in as well as the
check that you will use to pay the bill and keep
it in the original envelope that you are writing
the date and possibly more information on. This
way when the day arrives to pay the bill all you
have to do is double check everything is in order
and seal the envelope and send it off. If you
rather wait until the day that you pay the bill
to fill out everything try and keep everything
you'll need (pen, stamps, etc) near your bills.
When
you pay a bill keep the envelope that you've written
date on and write down the date that you paid
it and the number on the check that you used to
pay it, (or confirmation number if you have paid
the bill online) and place it in the back of the
bill organizer. At the end of the month you'll
have all the information you need to write on
the remaining pieces paper that you have of your
bill statement before you file it.
You
could certainly add the information to the bill
statements right after you pay the bill. Place
the envelope in the back of the sorted bills.
This way when it is the end of the month and it
is time to file your bill statements away you
will have all of the information that you need
to record, or will have already recorded anything
that you need to and can quickly place each bill
statement in its appropriate folder. |
